Felicia Chaney was born in the sunny city of Fresno, California, where she grew up as an only child with a passion for reading, crafting, and adventure. As a kid, she couldn’t get enough of the Berenstain Bears and Goosebumps series, which sparked her love for storytelling. Whether she was piecing together puzzles, getting creative with arts and crafts, playing Super Nintendo, or getting lost in the world of coloring books, Felicia always had an imaginative spark!
From a young age, Felicia knew she wanted to help people, and the medical field called to her like a magnet. At a young age, Felicia loved staying busy at the library studying anatomy, laying the groundwork for her future nursing career. By the time she was a teenager, she had her heart set on becoming a nurse, and she hasn’t looked back since. With over 18 years of nursing experience—primarily in critical care and emergency—Felicia’s love for learning and helping others has only grown stronger. Even today, she continues to work full-time in healthcare, always eager to expand her knowledge and skills.
Felicia is happily married to her wonderful, supportive husband, and together they are proud parents to two incredible boys, both of whom are autistic. Her youngest son, in particular, has inspired her to embark on a new journey as a children’s book author, sharing his story and raising awareness about autism. Their household is never dull, especially with two large, spoiled, and loving dogs always nearby to add to the fun!
In her free time, Felicia treasures every moment spent with her family, whether it’s traveling to new destinations, attending baseball tournaments where her older son competes, or simply enjoying the comforts of home. She loves attempting to play the guitar and keyboard and hopes to one day be good enough to play an entire song! A lifelong reader, Felicia still loves getting lost in the pages of a good book and continues to challenge herself with new hobbies, including learning Japanese—a dream she’s determined to fulfill, with the ultimate goal of visiting Japan and speaking fluently.
Becoming an author has always been one of Felicia’s lifelong dreams, and now, with her passion for storytelling and a desire to make a difference, she’s thrilled to finally see that dream come true. With each book, Felicia hopes to inspire young readers, encourage empathy, and make the world just a little brighter for everyone.
