Hello, and welcome! My name is Felicia Chaney, and I’m thrilled to share a journey that’s been a lifelong dream finally coming true: writing my first children’s book. Writing for children is something I’ve always wanted to do, and after nearly a year of hard work, dedication, and a lot of learning, I’m well on my way. Though it hasn’t been easy, each step has been a joy, and I’m excited to take you through my experience in bringing this dream to life.

When I began this process, I had no idea the amount of research and dedication it would take. To bring my vision to life, I threw myself into every resource available: courses, YouTube tutorials, how-to books, and articles about the writing and publishing process. Each source offered a new insight, helping me understand what goes into crafting a meaningful story for young readers.

Currently, I’m in the illustration phase, which has been amazing to watch unfold. Seeing my characters and ideas come to life visually is both exciting and surreal. After illustrations, the next step will be formatting the book, and then, of course, publishing. Every phase in this journey has been rewarding in its own way, and I’ve learned so much about the creative process.

Realizing that I want to continue writing more books, I decided to start my own publishing business. Launching my LLC was another milestone, filled with its own set of research challenges and late nights. But as I completed the registration process, I felt empowered to handle future projects independently. This step makes my dreams feel even more within reach, knowing I have a business foundation to support my goals.

We all have dreams, and making those dreams a reality requires a plan. There will be moments of doubt and times when the work feels overwhelming. In those moments, remember it’s all part of the journey. When things get tough, take a break, breathe, and jump back in with renewed energy. With hard work, resilience, and a commitment to keep learning, you can achieve anything you set your mind to.
